Gettysburg splits pair in Hilton Head

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg swept all six singles in straight sets to defeat Catholic 7-0 in the morning match before Lake Forest won five of the six singles for a 6-1 afternoon victory over the Bullets.

THE LEADERS
Mikey Fellman (Rockville, Md./Thomas S. Wootton) led the Bullets with four wins in the two matches. He and Adam Contract (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) combined for a 6-2 win at second doubles against Catholic before winning their second doubles match against Lake Forest, 6-4. Fellman went on to win No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-1 in the morning and 6-1, 6-0 in the afternoon.

FOR THE FOES
• JT Earwood and Diego Romo combined to win No. 1 doubles for the Cardinals 7-6, taking the tiebreaker, 8-6.
• Felipe Vazsonyi led the Forresters with two wins, pairing with Joao Espindola for a 6-3 win at third doubles before winning fourth singles, 6-2, 6-2.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Adam Contract capped a two-win match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at third singles in the Catholic match.
Ben O'Connor-Skloot (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./Dobbs Ferry) clinched the match for Gettysburg, taking No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-3.
JP Damare (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) split the first two sets with Kyle Lassen at sixth singles. Damare took the opening set 6-3 before Lassen forced the third-set tiebreaker with a 7-5 victory. Lassen then prevailed, 10-5.

Gettysburg returns to action at against Midland and Gordon on Friday. The first match begins at 11 a.m.
