THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, had three runs of three straight goals or more to defeat No. 22 Christopher Newport, 16-6.
THE LEADERS

Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) was one of three players to record hat tricks for the Bullets.

Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) added four assists to her three goals for a seven-point outing.
FOR THE FOES
• Kate Lamendola led the Captains with two goals, three draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover.

Julie Breedveld and Page Henry traded goals over the game's first 2:07 before
Julia Daly converted a free-position tally with 8:08 showing to start a three-goal run for Gettysburg.
Sarah Scollin (Oreland, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) finished a solo run with 6:42 showing before
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) converted from the 8-meter arc for a 4-1 lead with 4:02 remaining. Kate Lamendola closed the margin to two with 73 seconds remaining but
Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) pushed the lead back to three in the final nine seconds of the opening period.
• Brookelyn Morrison and Crane traded free-position tallies 24 seconds apart for the only second quarter scores, making it a 6-3 game with 9:12 showing.
• Crane started a three-goal run to open the second half that stretched the lead to 9-3 midway through the third quarter. She scored with 10:05 on the clock before
Lauren O'Connell (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) found the back of the net 33 seconds later. Scollin then found
Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) with 7:16 on the clock. After an Elena Sorkin free-position goal two minutes later, Scollin and Passarello each found paydirt to make it an 11-4 game with 3:04 remaining. Lamendola converted an advantage goal 30 seconds later to return the margin to six.
Nina Marra (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) pushed the lead back to seven in the final 1:14 of the quarter.
• That Marra goal started a flurry of goals in the fourth quarter that pushed the advantage to running clock before six minutes elapsed. Daly scored twice in the first 3:17 before Breedveld extended the lead to 15-5 with 9:14 remaining. Breedveld then finished a hat trick with 7:55 showing. Elana Sorkin set the final margin with 1:46 to play.
THE INSIDE STORY
•
Emily Crane rounded out the trio of Gettysburg players with three-goal days.
•
Lily Macatee (Street, Md./North Harford) and
Grace Battle (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School), the reigning Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, led the way in the circle with seven and six draw controls, respectively. Macatee now has 282 career draw controls, three shy of the program record.
• The Bullets finished with a 32-12 advantage in shots and 16-10 advantage in draw controls.
