THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, used a pair of 7-0 runs to aid in a 17-9 win over Catholic.
THE LEADERS

Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) led the Bullets with a career-high five goals, scoring on five shots. She also had two ground balls.
FOR THE FOES
• Henley Bredemann led the Cardinals with two goals, four draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) staked Gettysburg to a 1-0 lead just 27 seconds into the game. Catholic, however, responded with three of the next four goals to take a 3-2 lead with 7:06 remaining in the first quarter. Jessie Lee and Madeline McDevitt scored a minute apart to turn the one-goal deficit into a one-goal lead with 12:24 showing.
Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) found the back of the net for the equalizer just over two minutes later before Tori Wilsey put the hosts back in front. Daly, however, knotted the game at 3-all with 6:01 to play and sparked a 7-0 run. Two
Sarah Scollin (Oreland, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) goals 40 seconds apart made it 5-3 with 3:20 showing before
Maddie Passarello scored 17 seconds later and made it back-to-back markers herself with 1:47 on the clock for a 7-3 first-quarter lead.
• Daly completed her hat trick 3:05 into the second quarter to push the lead to five. Just over two minutes later,
Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) converted an advantage goal from
Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) for a 9-3 lead. Wilsey snapped the run with a free-position tally at the 8:37 mark to make it 9-4. Another free-position marker from Lindsay Sawyer just 33 seconds alter made it a four-goal game.
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) hit Passarello in front to break up the mini-run and push the lead to 10-5 with 4:12 showing. Izzy Fiore and Henley Bredemann each found the back of the net in the final 66 seconds of the opening half to cut the margin to 10-7 with 20 ticks on the clock before weather forced a stoppage in action just before the halftime break.
• With a delay of more than an hour, the teams just switched ends without a halftime break and Bredemann needed just 72 seconds to make it a 10-8 game. Crane halted the run of three straight goals by the hosts, quickly finishing a pass from Scollin to return the advantage to three with 8:47 remaining. Off a turnover, Crane found a sprinting Passarello for a 12-8 lead with 5:50 showing. Just over a minute later, Scollin hit Passarello then Crane went top shelf with 2:53 remaining for a six-goal lead. Crane then found Smith in the 10 seconds of the period to take a 15-8 lead into the final quarter.
• Crane found
Nina Marra (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) nearly four minutes into the final period before finishing a solo run to cap a second 7-0 run in the game with 7:14 showing. Maggie Traynor broke up the run with 2:43 to play for the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 30-23 advantage in shots and won 16 of 30 draw controls.
