Franklin & Marshall, ranked fifth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, broke a 10-all tie with the only goal of the fourth quarter to defeat No. 3 Gettysburg, 11-10.

Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) found her way in front of the cage and finished from short range for a 1-0 lead in the first 45 seconds of the contest.
Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) then found a cutting
Sophie Smith, who finished for a 2-0 lead with 7:48 on the clock. Lane Lambeth cut the deficit in half a minute later. Lydia Cassilly cut down the middle and finished to tie the game with 5:50 to play in the opening period. In transition,
Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) hit Smith in stride to goal, putting Gettysburg back in front with 4:25 remaining.
• Lambeth drew the game back even, cutting and scoring with 13:48 to play in the second quarter.
Lauren O'Connell (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) dotted the upper-right corner of the goal just 39 seconds later to put her team back up one. Lambeth put a one-timer into the left side of the net to complete a hat trick and retie the game with 10:51 on the clock. Just under a minute later, Smith completed her hat trick to once again give the visitors the lead. Alexandra Proefrock converted a free-position attempt with 6:58 showing for the fourth tie of the game. Cassilly gave Franklin & Marshall its first lead of the game with 5:50 on the clock. Lambeth gave the hosts a two-goal lead with 3:56 to play, forcing a timeout.
Sarah Scollin (Oreland, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) hit
Nina Marra (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) in stride to snap the three-goal run and close the margin back to one with 1:55 to play.
• Just 45 seconds into the third quarter, the Diplomats went back up two with a goal from Devyn Crone. Cassilly went low the first three-goal lead by either team, taking a 9-6 advantage 45 seconds later. Crane took a pass from O'Connell and finished on the run to trim the margin to two with 8:18 on the clock. Crone responded on the other end before
Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) once again made it a two-goal game with 4:57 showing. Scollin made it 10-9 with a low shot across the face of the goal just over a minute later. Scollin then found Marra, who got a low shot inside the post to tie the game with 70 ticks remaining in the third.
• Lauren Pittman reestablished the one-goal advantage for the hosts, finishing in traffic nearly two minutes into the final quarter for the lone goal of the final 15 minutes.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 28-24 edge in shots.
• It was the 12th game between the Bullets and Diplomats since 2005 that was decided by one goal.
