THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, scored 10 straight goals over the second and third quarters to open up a 10-goal margin on Washington (Md.), leading to a 16-5 victory in the regular-season finale.
THE LEADERS

Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) led the Bullets with a career-high four goals.

Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) added three goals and an assist to go with eight draw controls and two caused turnovers.

• Elisabeth Braswell paced the Shorewomen with three goals of her own.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Emily Crane and Piper Evans traded unassisted tallies in the game's first four minutes before Evans found Tobin Chambers for a 2-1 Washington lead with 9:05 on the clock.
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) broke free and scored to tie the game three minutes later before she hit
Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) in front for a 3-2 lead just over two minutes later. A
Sophie Smith free-position tally made it 4-2 after one quarter.
• Elisabeth Braswell closed the margin to one with 12:39 showing in the second quarter before Smith converted a
Lauren O'Connell (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) pass for an advantage goal to start the game-changing 10-0 run with 8:06 showing. Kelly finished a solo run with 3:45 remaining before finding Smith just over a minute later for a 7-3 lead. A Crane-to-Passarello connection and
Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley)-to-Smith hookup in the final 36 seconds of the quarter made it 9-3 at the break.
• The Bullets continued the run in the third quarter with a 5-0 period. O'Connell started the scoring with 8:34 on the clock before Daly found Crane 13 seconds later. Kelly then hit a cutting
Nina Marra (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) with 6:51 showing and Passarello bounced home a Daly pass for a 10-goal lead with 4:46 on the clock. Marra then found Daly on a restart for a 14-3 lead after three quarters.
• Two Braswell goals in the first 4:30 of the fourth quarter cut the deficit to nine but Crane and Daly each scored in the game's final 5:23 for the final score.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 35-25 advantage in shots.
