THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 15th in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Division III coaches' poll, opened the season at the 54-hole Gate City Invitational hosted the Greensboro. The 18-team field featured no fewer than 13 teams ranked in the preseason poll and the Bullets finished 12th with a three-round, two-day score of 892.
THE LEADERS

Patrick Kilcoyne (Belmont, Mass./Belmont) led the Bullets with a 54-hole score of 215. He opened the tournament with an even-par 72 on Monday morning. On Monday afternoon, he fired a two-under par 70 that included four birdies. He finished off the tournament with a one-over par 73 on Tuesday.
FOR THE FOES
• Sewanee won the tournament with a score of 861 (285-284-292), edging Carnegie Mellon by one stroke.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Wyatt Isgrig (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) made his collegiate debut with a total score of 220 and 27th-place finish. He opened the tournament with matching rounds of 77 on Monday before going low on Tuesday with a round of 66 that included five birdies on the back nine. The final-round 66 was the best round of the day by two strokes.

Daniel Casanta (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) finished tied for 51st with a score of 225. His best round came on Monday afternoon with a one-over par 73. He opened the tournament with a round of 75 before closing with a round of 77.

Reece Scott (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) placed 86th with a score of 235. He bookended the tournament with rounds of 78, sandwiching a 79 in Monday afternoon's round.

Christian Deussing (Doylestown, Pa./Hun School of Princeton [N.J.]) rounded out the field in 93rd place with a score of 246. He bounced back with a final round 75 after carding rounds of 86 and 85 on Monday.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The Bullets improved in each round over the tournament, carding a round of 302 to open play on Monday and bouncing back with a round of 299 on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday. Gettysburg fired a round of 291, which was the second-lowest round in the field over the third round.

Wyatt Isgrig's round of 66 on Tuesday was the best round ever by a Gettysburg freshman.
