THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored a pair of goals in the first seven minutes of the game and held that two-goal margin at the end, defeating Muhlenberg, 4-2.

THE LEADERS
• Stephanie Balerna (Pennington, N.J./The Pennington School) recorded a goal and two assists to lead the Bullets in their most offensive in two years.

FOR THE FOES
• Anna May scored the first of the two Mule goals.
• Dani Klingener made 12 saves in net.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Just 4:09 into the game, Abigail Fitzsimmons (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) redirected a Kylee Gust (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Lower Marion) shot that came directly off a Jane Daiutolo (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) pass for a 1-0 lead. Not even three minutes later, Stephanie Balerna fired home her first of the season into the side netting off a feed from Becca Wood (Wolcott, Conn./Wolcott) and early 2-0 lead. In the 17th minute, Fitzsimmons played the ball up to Balerna, who found Gust and she fired it home for a 3-0 lead. Just 95 seconds later, Anna May finished a Madelyn Hill pass off a misplay by the defense to break up the shutout.
• Just one minute into the second half, Kaylie Thran found Devon Cheeseman, who put the ball in the back of the net to cut the deficit to one. In the 75th minute, Elise Fox (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) headed home Balerna corner kick for an insurance goal.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 33-4 advantage in shots. The 33 shots by the Bullets were the most since peppering Bryn Mawr with a program-record 49 in an 8-0 win on Sept. 29, 2017.
• Gettysburg added a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
