THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 19th in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division III coaches' poll, fired a season-best round of 287 in the second round to jump to a second-place finish at the Northeast Elite. The Bullets opened the tournament with a round of 291 for a 36-hole total of 578.
THE LEADERS
•
Daniel Casanta (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) led the Bullets with a career-low round of 67 on Monday to finish with an even-par 36-hole total of 142. He finished tied for second overall in the field of 90 golfers. Casanta posted a round of 75 over the opening round, registering nine birdies over the two days.
FOR THE FOES
• Rochester ended the first round with a one-stroke advantage on Gettysburg and then matched the Bullets with a round of 287 on Monday to edge out a one-stroke victory with a total score of 577. The Yellow Jackets' Alvin Su won the individual title but nine shots, firing a nine-under par 133 that included a 67 on Sunday and tournament-low 66 on Monday.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Freshmen
Wyatt Isgrig (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) and
Andrew Ekstrom (York, Pa./York Suburban) finished tied for seventh in the field for their first career top-10 individual finishes. Isgrig carded matching rounds of 72 to finish with a two-over par 144. Ekstrom closed out his tournament with three straight birdies to also post matching rounds of 72.

Will Chouinard (Hamilton, N.Y./Hamilton) fired a round of 72 on Sunday before finishing up the weekend with a round of 77 on Monday to place 20th overall with a score of 149.

Patrick Kilcoyne (Belmont, Mass./Belmont) finished tied for 46th overall with a total score of 154 (78-76).
• Playing as an individual,
Nick Conti (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) was 13th overall with a two-day score of 146. After recording a round of 74 on Sunday, he turned in a career-best round of 72 on Monday that featured an eagle on the par-5 sixth.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg had the best finish of five Centennial Conference teams that competed in the tournament.
