THE SKINNY STORY
York, ranked 10th in the NFHCA Div. III coaches' preseason poll, scored two goals in the first four minutes of the second half and that proved the difference in a 3-1 win over Gettysburg.
THE LEADERS

Sabrina Post (Poquoson, Va./Hampton Roads Academy) scored the lone goal foe the Bullets.
FOR THE FOES
• Three different Spartans found the back of the net, including Hannah Downs opening the scoring just 2:49 into the game.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Off a corner in just the third minute of the game, Hannah Downs cleared up a scramble in front of the cage to stake York to an early 1-0 lead.
• The Spartans struck again early in the third quarter when Katelyn Landis dribbled in on a corner and finished from the right wing just 2:33 into the second half. Just over a minute later, Kelbie Linebaugh made it 3-0 from nearly the same spot on the field. Off a takeaway at midfield, the Bullets played the ball up the field down the left side.
Jillian Somers (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) blasted a ball toward the cage and a crashing
Sabrina Post was able to tap it home to make it a 3-1 game in the 41st minute.
THE INSIDE STORY
• York finished with a 16-11 edge in shots and 13-6 advantage in penalty corners.

Delaney Ellsworth (Cos Cob, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) made four fourth-quarter saves in relief action in goal for Gettysburg.
