After No. 17 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps controlled play in the first half, Gettysburg took advantage of a breakaway in the 53rd minute for a 1-0 win.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Claremont-Mudd-Scripps held possession for two-thirds of the first half, outshooting its hosts 10-0 but never got a quality look at goal. Just over seven minutes had elapsed in the second half when
Diallo Cowan (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell) stepped in front and took away the ball at midfield. The freshman sped down the far sideline and cut into the box. A defender stepped in front and took him down, leading to a penalty kick.
Julius Rigo stepped to the spot and drilled the kick for the game's lone goal.

• In addition to the 14-4 advantage in shots, CMS had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
