THE SKINNY STORY

THE LEADERS
Amanda Rapel (Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg) led the Bullets with a career-high 25 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Amanda Rapel opened the game with a 3-pointer just 15 seconds into the game and Gettysburg did not trail the rest of the way. Three Kimberly Hopkins free throws and an Ava O'Neil (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College) corner triple stretched the lead to 9-2 with 7:42 showing. Two Mia Chapman free throws and a Victoria Zerbe layup cut the deficit to 9-6 just 41 seconds later. Another Zerbe driving layup made it a 14-13 game with 3:25 showing but Hopkins layups on either side of an Emma Landis layup coupled with a Rapel putback made it a 20-15 game after one period.
• An O'Neil three-point play extended the lead to eight before a Chapman layup with 9:06 on the clock made it 23-17. The Bullets then held the Red Devils off the scoreboard until a Zerbe turaround in the lane with 1:28 to play. In the meantime, the hosts reeled off nine straight points to build a 15-point edge and took a 32-19 lead into the locker room.
• The third quarter lead remained between 12 and 16 points until three Hopkins free throws and a Rapel layup stretched the advantage to 44-27 with 3:28 remaining in the period. Dickinson, though, closed the period on a 9-2 run to get the margin to 10 entering the final period. After Rapel made it a 46-33 game, Zerbe got a three-point play with 0.6 seconds left.
• Hopkins and Zerbe traded baskets to open the fourth quarter. Then Hopkins and Rapel combined for 10 points in a 12-0 run that opened up a 60-38 lead with 3:15 to play en route to the 19-point win.
