THE SKINNY STORY
Merchant Marine won three straight matches late and Ursinus closed out the match with four straight pins to hand Gettysburg a pair of losses at a Centennial Conference trimatch. The Mariners won 25-15 before the Bears capped the day with a 40-8 victory.

Noah Hinkel (Marietta, Pa./Donegal) staked Gettysburg to a 3-0 lead in the Merchant Marine match, posting a 7-1 win at 125. Wesley Wydick, however, turned the three-point deficit into a three-point lead with a 1-minute, 7-second fall at 133.
Brendan Callahan answered pin for pin before Aidan Krass won 5-0 and Logan Weaver added a 10-2 major decision for a 13-9 lead after 157.
Ethan Composto (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) made it a 13-12 score with an 8-5 win in the first sudden victory period but the Mariners won three straight to seal the win, capped by a Tyler Withers first-period 18-2 technical fall at 197.
Simon Taylor (Alexandria, Va./Woodbury Forest School) capped the match with a 2-0 win for the Bullets at heavyweight.
• In the second match, Michael Adams recorded a 11-0 win at 125 to stake Ursinus to a 4-0 lead before Blaise Verdino extended the lead to 7-0 with a 7-4 win at 133.
Brendan Callahan escaped with a 7-6 win at 141 to make it 7-3 before a late Evan Shriberg pin at 149 stretched the lead to 13-3. Braden Kmak added a 12-7 win at 157 before an
Ean Wilson (Gardners, Pa./Boiling Spring) technical fall cut the margin to 16-8. The Bears then ended the match with four straight pins, including first-minute falls from Anthony Cerulli at 174 and Nils Updale at 184.
