THE LEADERS

• Ellen Manke (Madison, N.J./Morristown Beard School) matched her with 15 kills while hitting .478 with two total blocks.

FOR THE FOES

THE REST OF THE STORY
• The first set started back and forth. Tied at 9-all, Mallie Thomas put down a kill to start a run of four straight points to open up a 13-9 Dickinson lead. Kylie Schner then capped the 25-19 win with three straight aces.
• Two kills each from Emma Bradshaw and Eliza Jauregui (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) helped Gettysburg take an early 6-3 lead that it never gave back. Two Halle Feth (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) aces and a final kill from Bradshaw wrapped up the 25-19 win to tie the match at 1-all.
• The Red Devils opened up a lead as large as 16-10 on a Jessica Currie kill in the third set. Trailing 19-13, three Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) kills keyed a 9-3 run that gave the Bullets a 23-22 lead. Tied at 24-all, a Schner kill and Avery Butcher ace wrapped up a 26-24 win to give the hosts a 2-1 lead.
• Tied at 5-all in the fourth set, Gettysburg reeled off five straight points behind kills from four different players to open up a 10-5 lead en route to a 25-16 victory to force the deciding set.
• The fifth set featured eight ties and five lead changes. Tied at 12-all, a block from Schner and Emery Fishbach coupled with a Currie kill gave Dickinson match point. Grall and Ellen Manke, however, put down back-to-back kills to retie the set at 14-all. Currie, though, put it back at match point before an Amanda Palo ace won it.
