THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg won the first two sets before having to rally in the fourth set for a 27-25 win to secure a key 3-1 victory at Johns Hopkins.

THE LEADERS
• Emma Bradshaw (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) led the Bullets with a career-high 16 kills with just one error and hit .395 on the night. She also had two blocks.
• Ellen Manke (Madison, N.J./Morristown Beard School) added nine kills, two blocks and three aces that included the match-clinching ace.

FOR THE FOES
• Ivy Swafford led the Blue Jays with 19 kills, 11 digs, three aces and two blocks.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• The first set featured 12 ties and five lead changes. Tied for the final time at 17-all, a Clare Farrell (Livingston, N.J./Academy of Saint Elizabeth) knocked down and kill and Emma Bradshaw followed with a solo block for a 19-17 lead. Johns Hopkins countered with a block of its own but Bradshaw knocked down a kill before an attack error made it 21-18 and forced a Blue Jay timeout. Gettysburg reached set point on an Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) kill to make it 24-19. The Blue Jays staved it off three times before Ellen Manke put away the 25-22 win.
• Another nine ties and four lead changes kept the second set close as well. Once again tied for the final time at 17-all, a pair of Johns Hopkins errors gave the visitors a 19-17 edge. The hitters traded kills before Bradshaw and Manke each put one down for the back-to-back points to make it 23-20. An error and Manke kill finished off the set at 25-20 and gave Gettysburg a 2-0 lead.
• The third set had 11 ties and two lead changes but this time it was a big Blue Jay run that forced a fourth set. A Bradshaw kill made it 18-13 and forced a timeout. Out of the stoppage, Ella Wismer put down a kill to start a 12-3 finish to the set. A Celine Ebert kill started a run of seven straight points to end the set and force the fourth.
• Just like the three before it, the fourth set featured 12 ties and three lead changes. Johns Hopkins built a 17-13 lead on back-to-back Anna Pantano aces. Out of a timeout, however, a service error momentarily ended the run. Back-to-back Swafford kills, however, stretched the lead to 19-14. Gianna Galli (Demarest, N.J./Northern Valley Demarest) knocked down a kill to turn the serve over to Halle Feth (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) and the senior served six straight points to close to take a 21-19 lead. Three straight blocks started the run and Feth ended it with an ace. The Blue Jays drew back even at 22-all before the teams traded points. Tied at 25-all, Manke put down a kill then took the serve and found the back corner for the ace and winner.

THE INSIDE STORY
• With the win, Gettysburg snapped a 21-match losing streak to Johns Hopkins. It was the Bullets first win over the Blue Jays since a 3-2 win on Oct. 29, 2010 and first win in Baltimore since Oct. 10, 2009.
• Gettysburg secured a Centennial Conference playoff bid with the win, entering the final day of the season one game ahead of Muhlenberg for the final spot and holding the head-to-head tiebreaker.
• Nala Shearer (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) led the defense with 20 digs while Halle Feth added 17 to go with 23 assists.
• Erin Gonzalez (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) chipped in eight kills and 15 digs.
