Gettysburg closes out regular season with win over Bryn Mawr

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored the final 11 points of the first quarter to open up a 12-point lead and did not trail by fewer than that the rest of the way in a 66-29 win at Bryn Mawr.

THE LEADERS
Sasha Brody (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal) led the Bullets with 14 points and five rebounds.
Amanda Rapel (Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg) was the only other player in double figures with 12.

FOR THE FOES
• Hannah Mack led the Owls with nine points and six rebounds.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Two Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) free throws in the first 10 seconds of the game and an Amanda Rapel putback at the 7:27 mark staked Gettysburg to a 4-0 lead. Hannah Mack cut the deficit in half 15 seconds later. Sarah Bertolette (Stonington, Conn./Stonington) added a jumper before Hannah Govert drained a 3-pointer to make it a 6-5 game midway through the half. A Sasha Brody putback with 3:30 to play sparked the 11-0 close to the quarter. Five different Bullets hit field goals in the stretch.
• The run extended to 20 straight over nearly five minutes when Brody bookended a 9-0 burst to start the second period. Holding a 30-12 lead, Ava O'Neil (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College) scored three straight points to help Gettysburg close the half on a 12-0 run and take a 42-12 lead into the locker room.
• Bryn Mawr scored six of the first eight points in the second half but Caitlyn Nagle (Hightstown, N.J./Hightstown) capped a run of seven straight points with a 3-pointer to make it a 51-18 game with 1:56 to play in the period. The Owls scored the final five of the quarter to make it 51-23.
• Seven straight points to start the fourth quarter opened up the largest lead of the game at 35 before Gettysburg led by as many as 39 en route to the 37-point win.

THE INSIDE STORY
Caitlyn Nagle finished with eight points.
Reagan Chrencik pulled down 10 rebounds.
Ava O'Neill added five points and four assists.

NEXT UP
Gettysburg will host one of the two semifinals in the Centennial Conference tournament on Friday. Game time will be announced on Monday morning.
