LANCASTER, Pa. –
Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley), a senior on the Gettysburg women's lacrosse team, has been named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) Division III Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 13-19.
It is the first time she has earned the national recognition in her career after claiming Centennial Conference (CC) Offensive Player of the Week honors earlier in the day.
Daly led the Bullets (10-5, 5-1 CC) to a 3-0 week that included establishing a new mark for career goals in a Gettysburg uniform, breaking the 30-year-old record. She finished the week with 21 points in the three games, scoring 11 goals and dishing out 10 assists. She had three goals and three assists at Dickinson on Saturday before tallying two more hat tricks over the weekend. Against Swarthmore on Saturday, she netted five goals and added three helpers before a three-goal, four-assist day against Catholic on Sunday. She also had seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.
For the season, she leads with 47 goals, 21 assists and 68 points. She also has 24 ground balls and 13 ground balls.
Gettysburg returns to action at McDaniel on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
