THE SKINNY STORY
Tufts, ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, raced out to a big first-half lead and defeated Gettysburg 16-7 in the third round of the 2026 NCAA Div. III women's lacrosse championship tournament.
THE LEADERS

Kali McDonnell (Norwich, Vt./Hanover) was one of three players for the Bullets to score a pair of second-half goals.
FOR THE FOES
• Allie Zorn led the Jumbos with three goals and two assists.
• Eleanor Helm matched her with three goals and two assists of her own.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Tufts jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the game's first 5:54 capped by back-to-back tallies from Allie Zorn just over a minute apart. Grace Hammond made it 5-0 after one quarter, finding the back of the net with 1:35 on the clock.
• Two Eleanor Helm goals keyed a seven-goal second quarter. Tufts scored back-to-back advantage goals just 1:11 apart to open up an 11-0 lead en route to a 12-0 halftime lead.
• Esme Coes made it 13-0 midway through the third quarter before
Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) broke up the shutout with 6:18 showing.
Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) made it back-to-back advantage goals a minute and a half later before Grace Hammond and
Kali McDonnell traded goals in the final 2:29 of the quarter to make it 14-3 after three.
• After an Elsa Blodgett goal,
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) started a run of three goals in 5 minutes, 18 seconds. Daly and McDonnell both tallied their seconds to make it 15-6 with 4:23 to play. Sonja Kennedy and Kelly traded goals in the final 3:36 for the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Tufts finished with a 31-17 advantage in shots and advance to Sunday's national quarterfinal against the winner of the day's second game between Williams and Colorado College.
