GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Three members of the Gettysburg men's lacrosse team, two members of the men's golf team and one member of the wrestling team were named to the Division III Academic All-District at-large team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 9.
The following Bullets men's lacrosse players were honored as part of the program:
- Senior Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School), an economics major
- Senior Benny Kasoff (Leesburg, Va./Riverside), business, organizations and management major
- Junior JP Meyo (Westfield, N.J./Seton Hall Prep), a mathematical economics major
The following Bullets men's golfers was honored as part of the program:
- Junior Daniel Casanta (Pinehurst, N.C./Pomperaug), an English major
- Senior Christian Deussing (Doylestown, Pa./Hun School of Princeton [N.J.]), a business, organizations and management major
The following Bullets wrestler was honored as part of the program:
- Senior Phil Nave (Venetia, Pa./Peters Twp.), a health sciences major
Kasoff and Deussing earned their third straight honor while Mayo and Nave earned their second honor after also being selected last season.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and must be a starter or significant reserve.
Up to six eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
