Anna McGrath (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) broke up the scoreless game with an unassisted tally in the 21st minute.
• McKenna Newcome tied the game with a penalty kick just 6:24 into the second half before giving her team the lead just over three minutes later. Ella Cieri stretched the lead to 3-1 in the 65th minute before
Catherine Martin (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) connected with
Caroline Neal to return the deficit to one in the 73rd minute. Ellie Ajello added an insurance tally in the 86th minute.
THE INSIDE STORY
• All of the points registered in the game were the first of their respective careers for the Gettysburg players. It was
Catherine Martin's first assist and the first goals for first-year players
Anna McGrath and
Caroline Neal.
• Shenandoah finished with a 15-4 advantage in shots and 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.
