Shane Whitmer crossed a ball from the right endline to the back post, where
Ian Selvaraj (Parkland, Fla./Marjory Stoneman Douglas) knocked it home for a 1-0 Gettysburg lead. Nearly 14 minutes later, Whitmer was taken down in the box and stepped up and buried the penalty kick for a 2-0 advantage.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with an 18-5 advantage in shots, including 12-2 in the decisive second half.
• The Bullets also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
