Gettysburg Women's Soccer- A Win/Win Program
Gettysburg College is a four–year residential college with a strong academic profile. The Gettysburg women's soccer program is looking for student-athletes who are committed to handle the high expectations of the curriculum as well as the program. Winning on AND off the field is the foundation of the women's soccer program, so we want players who are ready to compete and who are looking for an enriching college experience that prepares you for the next 40 years.
Style of Play
We are looking for players who have high tactical, technical, and athletic ability, especially players who have a solid foundation of values and will buy into the culture of Gettysburg women's soccer. A strong work ethic, thirst for competition, strong mentality, and passion for the game are some values that we use to define the program. We aim to out-work and out-play each opponent we face. A commitment to high standards, a supportive team atmosphere and a love of the sport have been a winning formula for Gettysburg women's soccer that attracts players from all over the country.
The Recruiting Process
Our program is always on the lookout for future Bullets that excel both on the field and in the classroom. Here are the ways to contact us and for us to see you play:
Contact Us
Complete our
Women's Soccer Recruit Questionnaire and then follow up with an e-mail to the coaching staff, especially head coach Matt Garrett at
mgarrett@gettysburg.edu. Once you have started the process with us you can let us know tournaments or showcases you will be attending so we can see you play.
Attend Our Camps/ Clinics
We host our own fall, spring, and summer camps and clinics that give players a great opportunity to showcase their skills as well as understand what the Gettysburg Women's Soccer Program is all about. You can find information on future camps
here on our Instagram page
gburgwsoc.
Visit Campus
You can get a campus tour, meet with
Admissions, and spend time with our coaches. Contact our Admissions staff at
admiss@gettysburg.edu or call 717-337-6100 to set up the visit and be sure to let them know you wish to meet with the coaching staff. To streamline this process, please keep the coaching staff informed of any plans to visit so that we can make the proper time to meet you!
Send Highlights
Highlight videos or game film are a great way to start the recruiting process and get yourself noticed. We typically don't offer spots based on video alone, but it is helpful for the coaching staff to see you play. This can be done through your questionnaire process or editing your recruiting profile.
Come to a Game
Seeing a game on Clark Field allows you to get a feel for the level of play, our style of play and the atmosphere surrounding a game. You can see our game schedule
here.
Timing of Recruiting
Generally, we spend the summer before the fall and spring of a player's junior HS year to identify and evaluate players that we think would be a good fit athletically and academically. We invite top junior recruits to visit campus during this time for an unofficial visit. By May of the junior year, the recruiting process is typically well-advanced and we begin to offer spots. The majority of recruits apply through our early decision processes.
