Equipment Room Rules - Stadium

  1. Usage of Gettysburg College Equipment Room is a privilege, not a right of student-athlete.
  2. Read board for info – board is located to the right at the player’s entrance.
  3. Athletic Equipment will be signed out on card at equipment room window for entire sports season. Make sure you receive all equipment signed for. After fitting on Saturday, the player MUST take the fitting sheet (when completed) to the stadium equipment room to sign the player’s sheet.  The office will have open hours posted on equipment room door and in locker room. PLEASE OBSERVE THE OPEN HOURS.
  4. Equipment is property of Gettysburg College. Do not lend equipment. YOU are responsible for equipment lost or stolen. All equipment will remain at Musselman Stadium – do not take college items to dorms or off-campus housing.
  5. The athlete is responsible for practice clothing to be laundered. Make certain that the correct procedure is followed as we use different temperatures during washing and drying. Any loose clothing found in laundry would be considered lost and you will be charged accordingly. When returning soiled practice equipment, please use laundry drop-off.
  6. All clothing must be turned right side out (practice and uniform).
  7. All sweat clothing must be handed in with practice clothing when laundering is needed. Do not hand in with uniform items. Please observe laundry schedule when turning in sweat clothing for laundering.
  8. Proper way to turn in laundry: Tie loose strings (practice and game pants), close belt, drawstrings tucked in shorts.
  9. Follow laundry schedule for dropping laundry.
  10. Issued U/A should be place on the practice loop due to the drying temperature.
  11. Towels- must be in shower towel tub. You will only get back what is placed in the tub.
  12. Shower at the stadium as practice clothing needs to be turned in after practices.
  13. DO NOT ALTER CLOTHING OR PROTECTIVE PADDING. If this occurs without the approval of equipment manager, the athlete will be billed automatically.
  14. If you drop or are cut from a sport, hand in all equipment that day. If not, the athlete will be billed accordingly.
  15. At the end of the sport season, all Gettysburg College equipment must be turned in by the athlete that items were issued to the equipment room within 48 hours of last contest. If not, the athlete will be billed accordingly.  There is a 100% upcharge on all items not returned.
  16. THERE WILL BE A $25.00 AUTOMATIC, NON-REFUNDABLE BILLING FEE IF THE DEADLINES MENTIONED ABOVE ARE NOT MET.
  17. Keep locker room neat and in order. You may lose the privilege of practice clothing if locker room is not kept in an orderly fashion. The equipment manager will have sole discretion of this policy.
Uniforms
  1. Uniforms are numbered, and you are responsible for the numbers issued to you.
  2. All uniforms are turned in for laundering immediately following the contest or upon arrival from away contest.
Equipment
  1. Equipment Manager will randomly inspect equipment for proper fit. If you have any questions on fit, see Equipment Manager.
  2. Other protective equipment will be issued with approval of Athletic Trainer.
  3. Do not remove identifying numbers on helmets and shoulder pads.
  4. During drills, helmets need to be strapped and shoulder pads buckled.
  5. All tail, hip, thigh, and knee pads must be worn.
  6. Only helmets provided by Gettysburg College will be worn during the season.  Players may bring a specific shoulder pad but will need to get an approval fitting from Head Athletic Equipment Manager.
Facemask changes will occur from Saturday’s practice  to before practice the following  Monday.  Take care of this issue during this time.
