Andrew Hirsch

Andrew Hirsch begins his fourth season as an assistant baseball coach at Gettysburg College in 2016. He will also enter his first year as an assistant equipment manager.

Hirsch has helped the Bullets to a successful three-year run since joining head coach John Campo's staff. In 2013, Gettysburg went 30-13, broke the school record for wins in a season, and reached the Centennial Conference playoffs for the first time in six years. Then in 2014, the Bullets finished 33-8 to reset the program record for victories while winning 23 straight games at one point. The Orange and Blue also went 15-3 in league play, reached the Centennial Conference championship game for the first time in program history and earned a national ranking for six straight weeks late in the year.

Hirsch has been highly involved as a baseball coach and instructor since his graduation from Juniata College in 2011. He worked as an assistant coach at St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2012 and helped the team capture runner-up honors in both the Interstate Athletic Conference and the D.C. High School Baseball Classic for Private/Parochial schools.

In the summer of 2012 and 2013, Hirsch served as an assistant coach for the Alexandria Aces of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. In 2013, he helped the team set the program record for victories (28) for the second year in a row while posting its first playoff victory in franchise history. In addition, he works as a coach and instructor for Gregg Ritchie’s Starting Lineup in Fredericksburg, Va. Ritchie is the current head baseball coach at George Washington University and former hitting coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Hirsch, who is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, has also served as a camp assistant and instructor for Baseball Factory in Columbia, Md. as well as a coach and instructor for Virginia Baseball Club, Inc. in Merrifield, Va.

At Juniata, Hirsch helped the Eagles capture the Landmark Conference regular season baseball title in 2008 and finish as Landmark Conference tournament runner-ups in 2010. He obtained a bachelor of arts degree in business management, and he also earned a master’s degree in sports industry management from Georgetown University in 2012.
