Caswell enters his second season as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program in 2024-25.
Caswell comes to Gettysburg following a four-year stint as a graduate assistant and manager at Florida State from 2019-23 under legendary head coach Leonard Hamilton. For the 2022-23 season, he served as the Assistant Video Coordinator, creating film edits for scouting and recruiting. While at Florida State, he was a part of a 2020 ACC Regular-Season Championship team, along with a 2021 NCAA Sweet 16 run in Indianapolis. Florida State produced eight NBA players over Caswell’s four seasons in Tallahassee, including 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors, Patrick Williams, who was selected with the fourth overall pick by the Chicago Bulls, and Devin Vassell, who was selected in the lottery by the San Antonio Spurs.
Prior to Florida State, Caswell served as an assistant coach at Tallahassee Community College for the 2018-19 season. TCC finished 22-7, ranking as high as fourth in the nation, with six players going on to sign Division I scholarships. Caswell ran daily skill development workouts, provided academic assistance by monitoring study hall, and created film edits for scouting opponents.
Before TCC, Caswell served as the head coach for Maryland Movement’s 16U team, an Adidas Silver Gauntlet AAU program based out of Frederick, Maryland. He has worked basketball camps for Florida State, Baylor, Penn State, Maryland, Hoop Group Elite, Hoop Group Skills, Paul VI High School, and Messiah University.
A native of State College, Pennsylvania, Caswell played at nearby Messiah from 2015-17 for head coach Rick Van Pelt. His playing career was cut short due to a back injury and was then invited to join the Messiah coaching staff as a student assistant.
Caswell received his master’s degree in Sport Management, along with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Florida State University.
