Mike McSloy enters his first campaign as an assistant coach with the men's basketball program in 2018-19.
Prior to Gettysburg, McSloy most recently served as an assistant coach and co-recruiting coordinator at New York University (2016-2018). During his two seasons at NYU, numerous Violets players were recognized with accolades. Among the players earning accolades was 2018 graduate Ross Udine. Udine ended his career Top 10 in points (1,276) and holds the career record for assists (571). The 2017-2018 season resulted in three Violets receiving All-University Athletic Association honors. Senior Ross Udine and junior Ethan Feldman were both named Second Team All-UAA, while sophomore Dom Cristiano was named All-UAA Honorable Mention.

McSloy joined the NYU staff after serving as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Vassar College during the 2015-16 season where he worked with Gettysburg head coachÂ
B.J. Dunne. He helped lead the Brewers to the Liberty League Tournament and coached a pair of Second Team All-Liberty League players. He was also the assistant facilities director at Vassar.
Before he went to Vassar, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Connecticut College (2013-15) and one season in the same role at SUNY Maritime College (2012-13).

McSloy was a two-year member of the SUNY Maritime basketball team after transferring from SUNY Oswego. At SUNY Maritime, McSloy served as team captain as a senior, earning Second Team All-Skyline Conference honors. He finished his senior year ranked 25
th nationally in scoring (21.0 ppg) and led the Skyline in free-throw percentage (82.0). He graduated from SUNY Maritime with a Bachelor of Science degree in international trade and transportation in 2013.
