Troy Litten started coaching at Gettysburg in 2010 as an assistant with the Bullets men’s and women’s track and field programs. He works primarily with throwers, pole vaulters, and multi-events.
Throughout his coaching career at Gettysburg, he has helped three individual athletes claim Centennial Conference titles. Alexandra Van Tuyl ’12 was a three-time Centennial Conference heptathlon champion and finished upon graduation in Gettysburg’s all-time top-10 in 12 events. Tom Lester ’11 in the javelin (2011), and Steven Heinbaugh ’22 in the decathlon (2019). He has also guided numerous athletes to land on the indoor and outdoor track and field program’s top-10 list.
At the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Litten was an indoor/outdoor conference champion in the pole vault (2007) and went on to earn All-American status in the pole vault that same season. He also captured a conference title in the decathlon in 2008.
Since 2009, Litten has worked at Utz Quality foods as a Machine Operator.
Litten is a 2009 graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in sports management and minor in business.
