Jeremy Shepherd enters his ninth season as an assistant coach of the Gettysburg College softball program in 2021-22. Shepherd has served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Communications at Wilson College since the fall of 2015.

Shepherd has played a key role alongside his wife, current Gettysburg head softball coach Annette Hunt-Shepherd, in making the Bullets an annual contender in the Centennial Conference. The team won 30 games in his second season on the staff and in 2018, Gettysburg won the conference crown for the first time in 11 years. The Bullets swept through the regular season with a 14-2 record in conference play and hosted the 2018 CC Championship. Gettysburg went on to compete at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship hosted by Christopher Newport University. The Bullets captured their second CC crown in four years during the 2021 shortened season. The Orange and Blue went on to finish the season with a 13-5 record, which concluded at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship hosted by the 2021 National Champions Virginia Wesleyan University.

In eight seasons with Shepherd on staff, Gettysburg has compiled a record of 167-99-1 (.627). The Bullets have competed in the postseason five times.

Shepherd brings a wealth of experience at the collegiate level. As an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, he helped guide the Polar Bears to three Ohio Athletic Conference championships (2207, 2009, 2010) and one NCAA regional title. In 2009 Shepherd helped the Polar Bears to both conference and regional championships and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Softball Championships.

Shepherd was named to the OAC Coaching Staff of the Year three times as well as NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year in 2009. Coaching the outfield is his specialty and he has coached three All-Americans, 10 all-region selections, and 13 all conference players in the outfield.

Following his time at Ohio Northern, Shepherd spent one season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Shepherd also served as the head coach and assistant sports information director at Houghton College in Houghton, N.Y. In two seasons he guided the program to an appearance in the American Mideast Conference tournament and the National Christian College Athletic Association regional tournament.

Shepherd also serves as the Director of Operations for the Be Elite Softball Academy in Gettysburg.

Shepherd received his B.S. in Sports Management from Ohio Northern University in 2006 and attained his master’s in Business Administration from Tiffin University in 2010.

Shepherd and his wife, Annette, have two daughters - Skye and Sierra – and reside in Gettysburg.
