Riley Piechnick

Riley Piechnick enters her second season as an assistant women's soccer coach at Gettysburg College in 2017.

In her first season with the Bullets, Piechnick helped the Bullets earn their seventh-straight appearance in the Centennial Conference (CC) tournament. In the first-round match of the CC tournament, the team beat out Haverford in a penalty-kick shootout to advance to the semifinals. Individually, she helped coach midfielder Julia Ramsey ’17 to a spot on the All-Centennial Conference Second Team.

Piechnick is a 2016 graduate of Division I Loyola University, where she was a three-year starter at defender. She helped Loyola to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) title in 2012 before the Greyhounds moved into the Patriot League the following season. Piechnick would go on to start 49 of 53 games over her last three seasons and helped lead the team to its first-ever appearance in the Patriot League semifinals in 2015.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Piechnick graduated from Loyola with a degree in business administration and a specialization in marketing. A four-time selection to the Patriot League or MAAC Academic Honor Roll, she was also inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. In addition, she was a four-year student-athlete advisory committee member. She also served as an assistant coach with the Lutherville Timonium Soccer Club in 2015.
