One of Gettysburg’s top returning distance runners and most experienced athletes… Serving as a team captain…Also competes for the cross country team.
2014 Indoor: Ran in both the 3,000-meter run and the 5,000-meter run at the Centennial Conference Championship…Placed fifth in the 3,000 at the Susquehanna Open…Finished with the team’s second-best time of the season in the 5,000 (19:35.87) and third-best mark in the 3,000 (11:18.18)…Also ran personal season-best times of 2:52.16 in the 800 and 5:55.16 in the mile.
2014 Outdoor: Competed in the three-longest distance events over the three-day Centennial Conference Championship, placing 12th in the 10,000, 14th in the steeplechase, and 20th in the 5,000… Placed second in the 5,000 at the Messiah Invitational…Finished with the team’s second-best time of the season in the 10,000 (40:34.22) and third-best marks in the steeplechase (12:42.89) and 5,000 (19:37.50).
2013 Indoor: Finished 11th in the 5,000 at the Susquehanna Invitational and 14th in the same event at the Susquehanna Open…Recorded the team’s third-best time for the season in the 5,000 (20:29.52) and fourth-best mark in the 3,000 (11:54.95). 2013 Outdoor: Qualified for the Centennial Conference Championships in the 10,000-meter run and finished 13th…In the steeplechase, came in sixth at the Messiah Invitational and seventh at the Gettysburg Mason-Dixon Invitational…In the 5,000, placed fifth at the Little Three Meet and 11th at the Shippensburg Invitational…In the 10K, took fifth at the Millersville Metrics…Finished with the team’s second-best time for the season in the steeplechase (13:00.11), the third-best time in the 10K (41:43.52), and the fourth-best mark in the 5K (19:56.61).
2012 Indoor: Ran personal season-best times of 6:01.66 in the mile, 11:41.82 in the 3,000, and 20:35.31 in the 5,000…Placed 21st in the 5,000 at the Centennial Conference Championships. 2012 Outdoor: Ran all six standard distance events…Finished with personal season-best times of 2:48.16 in the 800, 5:38.65 in the 1,500, 11:57.09 in the 3,000, 13:04.48 in the steeplechase, 20:15.82 in the 5,000, and 43:21.57 in the 10,000…Finished 32nd in the 5,000 at the Centennial Conference Championships.
High School: Competed in cross country and softball at Rutgers Preparatory School under head coach Philomena Loy in cross country and her father, Bob Marotto, in softball…Was named All-State Prep B in softball…Was an AP Scholar with Disinction…Earned the Rutgers Prep McGovern Scholar Athlete Award, the Latin Prize, and the Joyce Kilmer Award for excellence in English…Also a member of the Latin Honor Society and the National English Honor Society.
Family Connections: Mother competed in basketball and softball at Gettysburg as Sue Marshall from 1981-85 and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Athletic Honor in 1995.
