GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg recorded double-digit service aces for the third time and four matches and the offense committed only 10 hitting errors as the Bullets took down Washington (Md.) College in three sets 25-17, 25-11, 25-19 in Centennial Conference volleyball action in Bream Gym on Saturday, Oct. 17. 
Gettysburg (15-7, 4-2 CC) put up 10 aces for the second-straight outing and its attacking errors marked its lowest total since its second match of the season against Hood College. The Bullets jumped out to early leads in each of the opening two sets and never looked back, capping the second frame with three aces by senior 
Kristina Mercier (Baltimore, Md./Mount de Sales Academy). 
Washington (9-12, 0-6 CC) put up a stiffer fight in the third contest and took a 15-14 lead on a Bullet service error. Junior 
Kate Yoder (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) put down a kill to grab the upper-hand for the hosts and after a tie at 17, Gettysburg posted four-consecutive points to take the advantage for good. Senior 
Stephanie Rickabaugh (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) capped the victory with two of the final three points on kills. 
Sophomore 
Virginia Hogan (Alpharetta, Ga./Chattahoochee) turned in an efficient day on the attack with eight kills in 14 attempts with no errors. She also posted three aces and one block solo. Mercier and Yoder each tallied eight kills, the former adding three aces and eight digs. 
Senior 
Amanda Krampf (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) directed the offense with a match-high 30 assists, adding a dozen digs and two aces. Senior 
Kristin Kotewicz (Columbia, Md./River Hill) led the defensive effort with 15 digs and served up a pair of aces. 
Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 21, with a road trip to rival McDaniel College. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
