SELINGSGROVE, Pa. – Gettysburg had its nine-game winning streak halted in the opener of its doubleheader at Susquehanna University, falling to the Crusaders 7-5, but the Bullets rebounded in the nightcap with seven extra-base hits to earn a 7-4 victory and improve to 14-2 overall on the season.

Senior Nicole Yannotta (Whippany Park, N.J./Whippany Park) finished 5-for-7 with three doubles, three runs, and two RBI on the day to lead Gettysburg. She moved into second place on the Bullets all-time list for career doubles with 30, six shy of the school record. Freshman Adrienne Rahs (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) posted a hit in each end and totaled three base knocks, three walks, and three runs scored.

The Bullets struck first in the opener with RBI singles by Sarah Woodbury (Audobon, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) and Erin Ober (Lutherville, Md./Dulaney) in the first and third innings, respectively, but Susquehanna (6-6) came back in the bottom of the third with three runs after loading the bases to start the inning.

After Gettysburg tacked on another run in the fourth, the Crusaders retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of scores. The visitors answer right back in the top of the sixth as sophomore Megan Lott (Bellsville, Md./Pallotti) provided the big hit with a two-run single up the middle.

Susquehanna had the last say in the scoring column with a pair of two-out runs in the sixth and held on for the victory as Gettysburg stranded a runner in its final at bat.

Senior Kristy Rubino (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) took the loss in the opener, falling to 6-2 on the year after allowing seven runs on a dozen hits and striking out seven. Yannotta reached base three times on two hits and a walk and scored twice for the Bullets.

For the second-straight game, Woodbury plated Gettysburg's opening run in the first inning, this time with a sacrifice fly, and the Bullets brought around three more runs in the second frame, highlighted by back-to-back-to back doubles by Rahs, freshman Catrina DelGais (Airmont, N.Y./Suffern), and Yannotta.

The Crusaders tied the game with three runs in the third inning on three hits, but that would be the only runs and hits allowed by junior Beth McCullough (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Homestead) who struck out five and stranded three runners over the final four innings.

Yannotta brought in the go-ahead run in the fourth with her second double of the contest and Lott added an RBI groundout in the inning. Senior Jessica Wallick (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) put the final tally on the board with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

McCullough improved to 7-0 on the year after striking out seven batters and helped her cause offensively with a pair hits and a walk. Yannotta's hot bat continued with a 3-for-4 performance in the nightcap, while Rahs and DelGais each posted two hits, two runs, and one RBI.

Gettysburg begins its Centennial Conference schedule this weekend with a doubleheader at Muhlenberg College on Saturday, March 21, at 1 p.m.
