COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – All five of Gettysburg's starters reached double figures in scoring and the Bullets used a big second half to roll to a 74-63 victory over host Ursinus College in a Centennial Conference men's basketball game Tuesday evening at Helferrich Hall.
Gettysburg (7-5, 5-1 CC) won its third game in a row and closed to within a half game of first-place Muhlenberg College (5-0 CC) in the Centennial Conference standings. The Mules were playing host to No. 13 Franklin & Marshall (4-1 CC) Tuesday evening.
The win snapped Gettysburg's six-game losing streak at Ursinus, marking the team's first win in Collegeville since Jan. 19, 2005.
The Bullets, who outscored Ursinus 40-19 over the opening 16:03 of the second half, led by as much as 25 before the Bears (7-6, 3-3 CC) ended the game on a 17-3 run.

Andrew Powers (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) scored a game-high 22 points despite playing just 11 minutes in the second half due to foul trouble. Freshman forward

The Bears, who had four players score in double figures, were led by Matt Hilton, who scored 17 points. Remy Cousart contributed 14 points and eight rebounds while Jon Ward totaled 12 points. Keith Page posted 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
The two teams got off to a slow start, with neither team scoring before a pair of Powers free throws with 18:19 on the clock. There were three ties and two lead changes over the next three minutes, and the Bullets enjoyed their largest lead of the half when a Hager jumper made it 15-10 with 12:31 left.
The lead changed hands three more times midway through the period, but Zurn put the Bullets in front to stay when he canned a three-pointer with 5:00 left, marking the sixth and final lead change of the night and making it 24-23.
Ursinus pulled to within a point on a pair of Hilton free throws with 2:56 left, but Hager answered with his first of his career-high three treys. A pair of Zurn foul shots with 15 ticks showing made it a 31-27 game at the half.
The Bullets dialed long distance to kick off the second half, hitting three straight three-pointers during a 12-1 run to start the period. After a Kennedy three made it 35-28, Hager knocked down back-to-back trifectas to push the lead into double digits. Zurn capped the run with a lay-up, making it 43-28 with 17:34 to go.
Gettysburg's lead swelled to 55-34 after back-to-back threes from Trelease and Zurn with 11:33 left. A pair of Cousart foul shots with 9:29 remaining cut the gap to 16, but a decisive 8-0 run put the Bullets firmly in command. Gettysburg's lead hit 25 (71-46) after a Zurn three with 3:57 left before Ursinus' late run.
The Bullets tied a season-high with 10 three-pointers, shooting a red-hot 7-for-10 in the second half from beyond the arc. Gettysburg was also 70.0 percent from the floor in the second period.
Gettysburg picks up its schedule on Thursday, hosting Muhlenberg at 8 p.m. in a key Centennial Conference showdown.
