GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College seniors made the most of their final regular-season appearance as Nicole Burns (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro) knocked down 13 kills and Kate Yoder (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) put up 18 digs in a 3-1 victory over visiting Muhlenberg College on Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg (16-13, 7-3 CC) closed the regular season in fifth in the standings and will play at Swarthmore College (17-10, 7-3 CC) in the first round of the conference tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at a time yet to be determined.

Outside of a letdown in the third set, the Bullets handled Muhlenberg (6-21, 2-8 CC) fairly easily with scores of 25-14, 25-14, 23-25, and 25-18. Gettysburg connected on 25 percent of its attack attempts in the contest and posted double-figure blocks for the 13th time this season with 11.

After being recognized prior to the start of the match, both Burns and Yoder performed their usual array of exploits on the court. Burns posted her second-straight double-figure kill effort in addition to posting five block assists. Yoder topped her personal mark for digs by six and also posted eight kills.

Junior Virginia Hogan (Alpharetta, Ga./Chattahoochee) posted a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs and added a trio of service aces. Freshman Sarah Gorski (Darien, Conn./Darien) recorded eight kills to go with a match-high seven total blocks. Junior Rebecca Rubenstein (Bedford Hills, N.Y./Fox Lane) posted 15 digs, while freshman setter Lizzy Kuhn (Wilmington, Del./Archmere Academy) notched 30 assists and 10 digs.

Davi Gordon led the Mules with 10 kills on 20 attempts with no errors. Brooke McQueen posted six kills and a team-high 11 digs and Morgan Duggan dished out 18 assists and served up a pair of aces.
