HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After closing its Spring Break trip to Florida on an offensive tear, the Gettysburg College baseball team continued its torrid hitting on Wednesday, rapping 18 hits in a 15-8 non-conference victory at Juniata College.
The Bullets, who won their fifth game in a row and have now scored 55 runs in their last four outings, were led by freshman
Pat Cody. In his first collegiate start, Cody – batting out of the No. 5 hole as the designated hitter – went 4-for-6 with a pair of runs scored.
Every starter had at least one hit for Gettysburg (6-4), which has now banged out at least 17 hits over its last four games. Senior
Kevin Langhauser went 3-for-6 with two triples and three RBIs while extending his hitting streak to nine while classmate
Mike Backus clouted a grand slam. Sophomore
Sean Johnson finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

Kyle Conklin worked 5 2/3 innings while improving to 2-0 on the season before giving way to senior
John Antrim-Cashin, who blanked the Eagles on two hits over 2 1/3 innings of relief.
Evan Pappas led Juniata (1-8), going 3-for-4.
The Eagles scored the game's first run in the bottom of the first before the Bullets erupted for 13 unanswered runs from the second through the sixth innings. Langhauser put Gettysburg on top for good with a two-run triple in the second before Backus broke the game open in the sixth, clearing the bases to make it 11-1.
Juniata pushed across four runs in the sixth to make it 13-5 before the Bullets capped their scoring with a two-run seventh. The Eagles set the final score with a three-run ninth.
Gettysburg continues its four-day, five-game stretch on Thursday, when it plays York (Pa.) College in the Bullets home opener starting at 3:30 p.m.
