ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Junior
Marybeth Scott (Chester Springs, Pa./The Hill School) shot an 88 to grab second place and lead the Gettysburg College women's golf team to a runner-up showing at the Muhlenberg Invitational held at the Lehigh Country Club on Tuesday, April 6.
Gettysburg finished with a total score of 388 to place 12 strokes behind Centennial Conference rival McDaniel College. Franklin & Marshall placed third with 437 and held the top individual score as Grace Gallagher out-distanced the 21-player field with an 83. Susquehanna University rounded out the team scores with 457.
Scott posted her second runner-up finish of the year after placing in the same position at the season-opening Susquehanna Invitational late last September. She was joined in the top 10 by teammates
Caroline Nathan (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and
Molly Nulty (Gettysburg, Pa./Homer). Nathan tied for fourth with a 91 and Nulty placed seventh with a 94.
Junior
Lauren Walsh (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) rounded out the starting lineup with 115, placing her in a tie for 14th overall.
Gettysburg's final tune-up before the CC Championships at the end of the month will be its own Gettysburg Spring Invitational hosted by The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pa., on April 17-18.
