Mary Washington Turns Back Men’s Soccer, 3-1

McLane Converts Penalty Kick for Bullets

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Gettysburg College men's soccer team saw its record dip to 0-2 following a 3-1 loss to host University of Mary Washington Sunday afternoon at the Mary Washington Soccer Classic.

The Eagles (2-0-1) scored the first three goals before the Bullets broke up the shutout in the 88th minute, when sophomore Andrew McLane drilled in a penalty kick.

Mary Washington opened the scoring when T.L. Tutor scored in the 11th minute and the Eagles led 1-0 at the end of the first half, when it outshot the Bullets 6-5. The Eagles added goals from Ryan Taibl and Will Gallop in the second half, when it held an 8-4 edge in shots.

Sophomore Mike Walmer finished with three saves for Gettysburg while Hunter Wooten also stopped three shots.

Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to College Misericordia University in a non-conference tilt starting at 7 p.m.
