Washington, which was whistled for 31 fouls, trailed by only three (56-53) with 3:14 left after a Chris Olsen jumper. But the Shoremen would go scoreless for the next 2:53, when they missed all three field-goal attempts and committed three turnovers. In the meantime, the Bullets ran off 13 unanswered points, with all but two coming at the foul line. With Gettysburg in the double bonus since the 8:17 mark, the Bullets went 11-for-14 at the stripe over the final 2:17. Geedey, who entered the game with a career-high of eight points, made 8-of-10 free throws during the stretch.

The Bullets trailed 28-24 with 2:29 on the clock before ending the half on a 7-2 spurt to take a 31-30 lead into the locker room. Powers and Breslin each scored 15 points in the stanza.
Washington enjoyed its final lead of the day (34-33) when Breslin dropped in a lay-up just over three minutes into the second half. However, Gettysburg took the lead for good after a 7-1 surge, although the Shoremen would pull to within one on five occasions. But the Bullets were able to preserve their lead while holding the visitors to 26.7 percent shooting (8-for-30) in the second half.
Gettysburg resumes its schedule on Monday, when it hosts Swarthmore College at 7 p.m. in another Centennial Conference affair.
