Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Six different players found the back of the net as the Gettysburg College women's soccer team improved to 3-0 in the Centennial Conference with a 7-0 victory over Washington College Saturday at Clark Field.

Gettysburg (5-2, 3-0 CC) recorded its third consecutive shutout and fourth consecutive victory overall. The Bullets out-shot Washington (1-5-1, 0-2-1 CC) 42-4, marking its highest shot total since putting up 44 in an 11-0 win over Chestnut Hill College in 2004.

The hosts fired off 26 shot attempts in the opening period alone, but they took 29 minutes to find pay-dirt as Washington goalie Tori Ripple stopped each of the first eight shots she saw on goal. Gettysburg converted the ninth, however, as freshman Molly Phillips dished the ball to junior Casey Attanasio for the opening goal at 29:49.

Phillips scored for the third consecutive match to make it 2-0 in the 42nd minute. Junior Suzy Englot  set up the play with a cross into the box and Phillips finished off the pass with a low shot.

It took just under two minutes for Gettysburg to get on the board in the final period as sophomore Becca Kent beat a defender on the left side of the box in the 47th minute.

Sophomore Tara Crowley had a hand in each of Gettysburg's next two scores, first dishing the ball to classmate Rachel West for her team-best fifth goal of the year in the 63rd minute, and then converting on her own attempt in the 70th minute.

Freshman Brigid Behan tallied each of final two goals. She picked up her first collegiate score by following up her own penalty kick attempt in the 75th minute. Behan put a cap on the day after receiving a through pass from junior Lindsey Lyons in the 87th minute.

All three Gettysburg goalkeepers combined for the shutout. Senior Allie Rivera played the first 46 minutes without seeing a shot. Freshmen Paige Della Badia and Morgan Patullo combined for the final 44 minutes with Della Badia picking up a save.

Ripple finished the day with a conference season-high 18 saves in the loss.

Gettysburg resumes action on Wednesday, Sept. 28, with a non-conference match up at home against Frostburg State University at 7 p.m.
