GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Cydney Bracken slammed down 15 kills to lead the Gettysburg College volleyball team to a 3-0 win over visiting McDaniel College inside Bream Gym Wednesday night.

With the victory, Gettysburg (13-10, 5-2 CC) remained tied with Haverford College (16-6, 5-2 CC) for fourth in the Centennial Conference standings. Only the top five teams make the conference tournament scheduled to begin at the end of the month.

The Bullets picked up the three-set win by scores of 25-12, 27-25, and 25-20. The hosts came out swinging in the opening frame, posting 15 kills against just one error in 27 attempts. McDaniel (5-19, 0-8 CC) pulled to 11-10 before Gettysburg mounted a 14-2 run capped by back-to-back kills by Bracken.

Gettysburg jumped out to the lead in set two before the Green Terror mounted a comeback to push ahead 25-24 following a hitting error by Bracken. The hosts persevered as freshman Courtney Morrow knocked down the game-tying kill and back-to-back hitting errors by McDaniel sealed the two-point win.

The Bullets led by as many as seven in the third and final set. McDaniel cut the deficit to two at 22-20 on a kill by Kloe Martin, but a pair of errors by the visitors sandwiched around a kill by Bracken closed the match.
