Alex Zurn scored a game-high 18 points while sophomore guard
Sean Gordon posted 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds as the Bullets earned a 66-52 victory over Muhlenberg College in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams Tuesday evening in Memorial Hall.
It was a 45-45 game with 9:59 left before Gettysburg (2-1, 1-0 CC) dug in defensively, holding the Mules (1-2, 0-1 CC) to a pair of field goals and three foul shots the rest of the way as part of a game-ending 21-7 run.

Derek Brooks added 12 points apiece for the Bullets while sophomore guard
Joe Emerusabe contributed six points and a career-high six assists.
AJ Dean led Muhlenberg with 12 points while Alec Steavetski posted 10 points.
The Bullets came out of the gates strong, racing to a 14-2 lead with 12:52 on the clock. Zurn scored 10 of Gettysburg's points during the stretch, including an alley-oop slam off a lob from freshman guard
Sango Amolo that capped the run.
The Mules climbed back into it with a 9-0 run and took their first lead when Stavetski went 3-for-3 at the line with 4:31 showing to make it 20-19.
It was a nick-and-tuck affair over the remainder of the half, which featured three ties and one lead change. A Kevin Hargrove lay-up made it 26-24 with 1:58 left, but freshman center
Thomas Brock converted a lay-in with 58 seconds to go before sophomore guard
JoJo Savaglio buried a jumper from the right corner just before the buzzer to put the Bullets up 28-26 heading into the intermission.
Muhlenberg outscored the Bullets 7-0 to start the second half, but the Orange & Blue came right back with an 8-0 spurt to assume the lead (34-33). The next seven minutes featured three ties and four lead changes, but a lay-up from Bors put Gettysburg in front to stay (47-45) with 9:07 remaining.
Bors' shot kicked off a key 9-2 Bullet run. Gordon just beat the shot-clock buzzer in the lane before Brooks cashed in on back-to-back buckets. He knocked down a jumper in the right corner before soaring in for a fast-break lay-up with 5:32 left, capping a run in which he scored eight of the Bullets 16 points. Zurn ended the run with a slash to the bucket that resulted in a conventional 3-point play that made it 56-47 with 3:43 to go.
Gettysburg iced the victory at the foul line, where is shot 8-for-11 over the final 2:17.
The Bullets return to action on Sunday, when they host York (Pa.) College at 3 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
