WESTMINSTER, Md. – On a day in which neither team led by more than six, McDaniel used a late 7-0 run in a 51-49 victory over Gettysburg in the season finale for both teams in Centennial Conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
Junior center
Christian Bors posted 19 points and eight rebounds while junior forward
Alex Zurn added 17 points for Gettysburg, which closes the season 11-14 and 8-10 in the Centennial Conference.
A Bors lay-up with 2:33 left put the Bullets up 47-44, but that's when the Green Terror (9-16, 6-12 CC) used their late run to pull away. A Tyler Rudd 3-pointer with 45 seconds left put McDaniel in front to stay.
Louis Sarris-Grau led McDaniel with 15points while Doug Macrone added 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc.
Gettysburg outscored the Terror 7-3 to start the game, but McDaniel came back to assume a five-point lead midway through the half. However, an 11-0 Bullet run, in which Bors and Zurn scored all of the points, put Gettysburg up 26-20 with 2:59 to go. McDaniel scored the last five points of the half as the Bullets took a 26-25 lead into the intermission.
A Sarris-Grau lay-up put the Green Terror in front 1:21 into the half, but a Zurn jumper with 17:27 on the clock put Gettysburg in front until Rudd's late trey.

Derek Brooks snapped McDaniel's late 7-0 spurt when he dropped in a lay-up with 13 seconds left to make it 51-49. The Bullets were forced to foul, and McDaniel missed the front end of a 1-and-1, but the Terror came up with a steal in the final seconds.
Both teams shot 18-for-44 from the field to finish with identical 40.9 field goal percentages.
