MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Senior Adrienne Rahs tied a pair of school records as the Gettysburg College softball team ran its win streak to six games by putting up 25 runs in its final two contests at the Snowbird Tournament.

Rahs connected on two of Gettysburg's (7-2) four home runs and drove in seven RBI as the Bullets powered past Albertus Magnus College (3-2) 16-5 to start the day. In the tournament finale, junior Taylor Snyder capped a perfect week on the mound by holding Becker College (1-7) to just two hits in a 9-1 victory.

Gettysburg's power surge on the final day started from the opening at bat as junior Joy Hallfors led off with a solo home run. Sophomore Abby Ferguson added a two-run shot later in the frame to put the Bullets in front 3-0.

After Albertus Magnus picked up a pair of runs in their first trip to the plate, Gettysburg jumped ahead 7-2 with a four-run second inning. Rahs picked up her first RBI with a sacrifice fly and sophomore Maggie Maguire followed up with a two-run single to highlight the frame.

The Falcons closed to 7-5 with a three-run homer of their own in the bottom of the third, only to see the Bullets return the favor in the top of the fourth. After Hallfors and freshman Melissa Tighe reached base via a single and a walk, respectively, Rahs connected on her second home run in as many days to clear the bases.

Gettysburg added two more runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh, punctuated by a two-run blast by Rahs to cap the day. Rahs is the seventh Bullet to hit two four-baggers in a game and she tied the single-game RBI mark held by Mandy Wilson '02 and Jen Nolan '00.

Hallfors, who became the 21st Bullet to reach 100 career hits, finished 4-for-5 with four runs scored. Tighe went 2-for-4 with a walk and four runs scored and Maguire finished 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI. Ferguson added a sacrifice fly for a three-RBI day.

Freshman Lindsey Treanor opened the day on the mound and fanned five in the first three innings. Senior Lanie Parr  picked up the win in relief, allowing just three hits while striking out five.

Gettysburg ended the week with another strong performance by Snyder. The right-hander improved to 4-0 on the season by allowing only a pair of singles in the second and third innings. She allowed an earned run in the second inning and struck out five.

By the time the Hawks had managed to find the scoreboard, the Bullets had already hit for five runs. Freshman Emily Hall and Ferguson brought across the first two with back-to-back hits, and junior Katie Lang polished off a four-run first with a two-run single. Hall drove in her second run in the top of the second.

Tighe scored her third run of the game in the fourth inning thanks to an outfield miscue and Gettysburg closed the day with three runs in the fifth as pinch-hitter Lindsey Peragallo plated two with a single to center.

Ferguson just missed the cycle finishing with a single, double, and triple in three trips to the plate, while Hallfors, Tighe, and Hall each posted two hits.

Gettysburg returns north for its next contest on Wednesday, March 21, at Lebanon Valley College. The doubleheader is set to start at 3 p.m.
