ASHLAND, Va. – Playing its final non-conference game of the regular season, the Gettysburg College men's basketball team dropped a 58-40 decision at Randolph-Macon College Wednesday evening.
Senior
Alex Zurn (Brookeville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) led the Bullets (5-7), who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end, with 18 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore guard
Joe Emerusabe (Derwood, Md./Magruder) and junior forward
Connor Poston (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) added eight points apiece off the bench while senior

Connor Sullivan shot 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and scored 17 points for the Yellow Jackets (7-5), who won their fourth straight game. Dylan Cole added 16 points while Marcus Badger dished out five assists for Randolph-Macon.
Gettysburg trailed by as much as 14 in the first half, but closed the period on 14-4 run to make it a 27-23 game at the intermission. However, a cold spell over the first part of the second half was too much to overcome. The Orange and Blue scored just four points in opening 9:20 of the period while falling behind by 15, and they were unable to draw closer than 12 the rest of the way.
The Bullets led just once, when it was 2-0 following a Zurn lay-up 44 seconds into the contest. The hosts answered with an 18-3 run to open up a 13-point advantage with 7:49 on the clock. Poston kicked off the team's late spurt with a pair of lay-ups to make it 23-13 with 5:10 remaining in the opening period.
Emerusabe pulled Gettysburg to within single digits with a lay-in at the 3:25 mark, then drained a 3-pointer with 2:34 to go, making it 23-20. After the Yellow Jackets pushed their lead back to seven, Zurn converted a conventional 3-point play with 37 seconds left to draw his team to within four at the break.
Randolph-Macon scored the first six points of the second half, and after a lay-up from freshman guard
Sango Amolo (Falls Church, Va./McLean) at the 16:31 mark, the Jackets ran off a 7-0 run over a 5:51 span to assume its 15-point lead.
Gettysburg returns to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, when it hosts Washington College at 3 p.m.
