SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomores Courtney Morrow (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields) and Alesha Miller (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) notched personal highs in kills and digs, respectively, to help the Gettysburg College volleyball team sweep past host Swarthmore College Saturday afternoon.
Gettysburg (9-9, 3-1 CC), which finished with a team attack percentage of .269 in the match, won by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-17 against Swarthmore (11-6, 1-3 CC). The Bullets tallied nine of the final 12 points to take the opening set, while jumping out to early leads in the final two frames.
Morrow put down 13 kills on 19 attempts with just three errors (.526 attack percentage), while Miller put up a match-high 24 digs. Freshman Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs, while senior Lizzy Kuhn (Wilmington, Del./Archmere Academy) dished out 36 assists and put up seven digs.
Senior Courtney Cyr (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) and sophomore Joosje Grevers (Westport, Conn./Staples) tallied nine and seven kills, respectively. Senior Kelly Milione (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) recorded nine digs.
Brone Lobichusky led Swarthmore with nine kills.
Gettysburg returns to the court at Gallaudet University on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.
