Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Freshman forward Cody Kiefer (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) posted his first collegiate double-double, but the Gettysburg College men's basketball team dropped a 74-52 decision to Dickinson College in a Centennial Conference affair Tuesday evening in Bream Gymnasium.

Kiefer finished with 13 rebounds – the most by a Bullet since Sean Gordon (Broomall, Pa./Malvern Prep) also had 13 in a win over Muhlenberg on Nov. 20 of last season – and 11 points. Sophomore guard Sango Amolo (Falls Church, Va./McLean) also scored 11 points for Gettysburg.

Gerry Wixted paced Dickinson (4-1, 2-0 CC), the defending Centennial Conference champions, with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Tuck Landy added 14 points while Adam Honig added 10 points.

After falling behind 10-2 to start the game, the Bullets went on a 14-4 run, capped by a lay-up from freshman center Mlynue Reeves (Washington, D.C./Church Farm School [Pa.]) with 11:09 remaining that gave his team its only lead of the game at 16-14. But that's when the Red Devils used a decisive 18-1 run that spanned over eight minutes to take a 32-17 lead with 2:52 on the clock. Junior guard Joe Emerusabe (Derwood, Md./Magruder) finished off a fast break seconds before the buzzer to make it a 35-24 game at the half.

The Bullets closed to within single digits in the second half and trailed just 43-36 with 13:56 remaining after a pair of Amolo free throws. But Dickinson scored the next seven points and gradually pulled away, leading as much as 28 at one point.

Gettysburg takes a week off before returning to Centennial Conference action next Tuesday, when it visits Johns Hopkins University at 8 p.m.
