The Bullets (14-6, 2-0 CC) erupted for 13 runs over the first two innings in the opener en route to a 17-5 victory in which they recorded 24 hits, the team's most since a 25-hit attack against Stevenson University in 2006. Gettysburg then scored the final seven runs of the nightcap to win 11-3.
Junior

Tommy LeNoir (Bear, Del./Wilmington Friends School) was 6-for-8 with three runs and five RBIs.
Gettysburg, which never trailed on the day, also received a pair of strong pitching performances from its starters. Senior
Ryan Taylor (Eldersburg, Md./Loyola Blakefield) held the Bears (4-12, 0-2 CC) to one run on four hits over eight innings in the opener before junior
Drew Felsenthal (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) allowed just three runs on seven hits while striking out six over seven innings in the nightcap.
In the first game, the Bullets broke out with five runs on six hits in the bottom of the first, sending 10 batters to the plate against Ursinus starter A.J. Wright, the older brother of Gettysburg freshman
Steve Wright (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South). LeNoir highlighted the inning with a two-run single that made it 3-0.
Gettysburg then piled on eight runs on eight hits in the second, when 12 Bullets came to the plate. Three singles and a hit batsman chased Wright (0-4) from the game, and a two-run single by junior
Austin Davis (New York, N.Y./Riverdale Country School) made it 10-0. Posch followed with a two-run double, and LeNoir capped the inning with a run-scoring single as the Bullets led 13-0.
The Bullets tacked on another run in the third, when junior
Nate Simon (Gwynedd Valley, Pa./Abington Friends School) tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly from sophomore
Cory Karagjozi (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville).
In the meantime, Taylor (3-1) faced the minimum through the first three innings and did not allow a hit until a one-out single by Josh Schnell in the fourth. The Bears failed to reach second against Taylor until the seventh, when Kevin Wilson led off with a single and went on to score on a two-out double by James Hoff. It was the first run Ursinus scored against Taylor in 27 innings, dating back to his freshman season. Taylor threw a nine-inning shutout against the Bears in each of the last two years.
Taylor retired the side in order in the eighth and finished with four strikeouts and two walks.
Gettysburg added single runs in the fourth, sixth, and eighth innings before Ursinus scored four times in the ninth against relievers
John Donovan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) and
Alex Indelicato (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown East).
LeNoir went 4-for-5 with four RBIs while Posch finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs. Davis was 3-for-5 with three runs while junior
Patrick O'Grady (Floral Park, N.Y./Archbishop Molly) hit 3-for-4. Junior
Ben Roessle (Summit, N.J./Summit) collected three RBIs.
The Bullets also jumped out to a quick lead in the nightcap, scoring four runs on five hits and an error to take a 4-0 lead. Simon doubled in a pair to make it 3-0 before scoring on an infield error.
Ursinus pulled to within a run with a three-run, five-hit third, when all nine Bears batted. However, Felsenthal (4-1) was in a groove the rest of the way, retiring 13 of the last 15 batters he faced while yielding only a pair of walks and recording five of his strikeouts.
Gettysburg opened up some breathing room in the fifth, when it scored four runs on two hits while taking advantage of two Ursinus errors. Davis drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 5-3 and chase starter Steve Berardi (0-3), and Posch greeted reliever Chris Ryder with a two-run double down the rightfield line. LeNoir capped the inning with a sacrifice fly, giving the Bullets an 8-3 lead.
The Bullets tacked on three insurance runs in the eighth, getting a two-run single by Karagjozi and an RBI-double from junior
Cam MacDonald (Norwell, Mass./Norwell).
Freshman
Luke Lawrence (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) tossed a pair of shutout innings in relief for the Bullets, allowing only an infield single.
Posch, Simon, and Karagjozi all went 3-for-5 in the second game, with all of Posch's hits going for two bases, while Simon also scored three runs.
