HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Gettysburg College field hockey team lost by a final of 3-0 at Haverford College in a Centennial Conference (CC) tilt Saturday afternoon.
 
The Fords (5-5, 1-2 CC) jumped to a 1-0 lead just 3:11 into the contest, with Jen DiMaria scoring off a Catherine Aronowitz assist.
 
DiMaria struck again with 25:01 left in the opening half, scoring on a corner with assists going to Aronowitz and Brenna Boehman.
 
The Bullets (2-7, 0-4 CC) would blank Haverford for nearly the rest game, with the Fords tacking on a goal with just three seconds showing. Aronwitz scored off an assist from Paige Carson.
 
The Fords outshot the Bullets 13-9 for the game, though Gettysburg held a 10-7 advantage in corners.
 
Freshman Haley Mowery (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Northern) finished with four saves for the Orange and Blue while Lindsey Lopes stopped two shots for Haverford. Sophomore Nina Diamond (Berwyn, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) added a pair of defensive saves for the Bullets.
 
Gettysburg resumes its schedule on Wednesday, when it hosts 13th-ranked Messiah College at 4:30 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
