WESTMINSTER, Md. – Junior
Sean Gordon (Broomall, Pa./Malvern Prep) poured in a career-high 19 points and Gettysburg continued its hot-shooting from beyond the arc as the Bullets knocked off McDaniel College 55-47 to close the Centennial Conference men's basketball regular season.
Already out of playoff contention, Gettysburg (12-13, .10-8 CC) put a damper McDaniel's (17-8, 12-6 CC) attempt to grab the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament by canning 9-of-19 attempts from beyond the arc (47.4 percent). Gordon led the charge, hitting a career-high five threes as part of a 7-of-14 performance from the field.
Gordon, who topped his previous career high of 18 set in his last outing against Franklin & Marshall College, added five rebounds and six assists. Over his last four games, the junior guard averaged 14. 3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.

Connor Poston (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) added 13 points and eight rebounds in his final collegiate game at Gettysburg. Junior
Joe Emerusabe (Derwood, Md./Magruder) turned in 10 points and three assists.
McDaniel, which scored only 18 points in the final period, was led by Andrew Merlo's nine points.
The lead changed hands 17 times during the game, with the majority of those coming in the opening half. Gettysburg grabbed a seven-point lead on a three-pointer by Gordon midway through the first period only to see McDaniel charge back with nine unanswered points to jump ahead 20-18 with 6:36 before the break.
The Green Terror kept the advantage until the waning seconds of the period when Gordon struck from distance twice in the final 48 seconds. His last heave before the buzzer gave the Bullets a 31-29 lead heading into the locker room.
The back-and-forth battle waged on in the second half with McDaniel taking a 46-45 lead on a lay-up by Wesley Brooks at 8:12. Gettysburg's defense held firm the rest of the way, holding the Green Terror without another field goal. Gordon's fifth and final three-pointer with 31 seconds left pushed Gettysburg in front 51-46.
The Bullets finished 20-of-43 from the field (46.5 percent) and out-rebounded McDaniel 30-27. Gettysburg knocked down eight or more three-pointers in six of its last nine games, canning 36.3 percent of its long-distance attempts during that stretch.
