JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Senior Drew Felsenthal (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) and junior Eric Hungerford (New Preston, Conn./Shepaug Valley) each tossed eight innings to earn the victory on the mound and the Gettysburg College baseball team swept Mount Aloysius in a non-conference doubleheader at Point Stadium.

The Bullets (11-3) won both games by a score of 4-2, including a late rally in the second game, and have now captured eight games in a row.

Senior Al Posch (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) finished the doubleheader 5-for-9 while junior Scott Zanghellini (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) went 4-for-7.

The two wins marked the 497th and 498th career victories for Gettysburg head coach John Campo.

The Mounties fell to 4-10.

Gettysburg spotted Felsenthal a 3-0 lead in the top of the third in the opener, getting an RBI-single from senior Nate Simon (Gwynedd Valley, Pa./Abington Friends School) and a two-run triple from classmate Tommy LeNoir (Bear, Del./Red Lion Christian Academy).

Mount Aloysius responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but Felsenthal settled in to blank the Mounties over the next five innings. He worked out of trouble in each of his last three innings, when he stranded a total of six runners.

The Bullets added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI-single from Posch.

Senior Patrick O'Grady (Floral Park, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) was summoned out of the bullpen to start the ninth, and he also worked out of a jam. A hit batsman and a two-out single brought the winning run to the plate, but O'Grady induced a game-ending flyout to earn his first career save.

Felsenthal (3-1) allowed just one earned run on eight hits and two walks while striking out seven. Posch went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Derrick Capiak (1-3) threw 6 1/3 innings for the Mounties and suffered the loss.

Mount Aloysius plated single runs in the second and third innings of the nightcap to assume a 2-0 lead. Benjamin Legath carried a shutout into the seventh, when the Bullets tied it with a pair of runs. Zanghellini led off with a double and would go to score on an O'Grady single. Posch tied it when he singled home senior Austin Davis (New York, N.Y./Riverdale Country School), who had drawn a walk.

Gettysburg went ahead with a two-run eighth against relievers Rodney Patterson and Daniel Resavy. Junior Mike Kielbasa (Ludlow, Mass./Loomis Chaffee School) ripped a one-out double before Zanghellini followed up with a go-ahead triple, which chased Patterson from the game. Senior Ben Roessle (Summit, N.J./Summit) capped the inning with an RBI-single.

Hungerford shut out the Mounties from the fourth through the eighth before giving way to freshman Aaron Bezio (Stafford, Va./Mountain View). After the leadoff batter singled, Bezio induced a groundout before getting a game-ending 4-6 double play for his second save in as many appearances.

Hungerford (3-0) scattered seven hits and two walks while striking out six. Zanghellini went 3-for-3 at the plate.

Patterson (0-2) was charged with the loss.

Gettysburg plays its home opener on Sunday, when it hosts Penn State-Berks in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
