ANNVILLE, Pa.  – Junior Lindsey Treanor (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) allowed only four hits as Gettysburg College knocked off No. 13 Lebanon Valley College 5-0 in the nightcap and ended the Dutchmen's perfect season in a non-conference softball doubleheader Tuesday night.

Lebanon Valley (18-1) tied a school record with its 18th-straight win in the opener, holding Gettysburg (14-7) to just two hits. The only Bullets to reach base were sophomore Steph Zengel (High Bridge, N.J./North Hunterdon) with a double in the first and junior Emily Hall (Reston, Va./Flint Hill School) with a single in the fifth.

The Dutchmen's big inning was the third when 11 batters came to the plate. A two-run double by Sammie Bost capped the seven-run frame and set the final score.

Lebanon Valley failed to solve Treanor in game two. The Dutchmen had several opportunities to get on the scoreboard, putting runners in scoring position in the first, second, third, and sixth innings. But in each instance, the Gettysburg hurler worked out of the jam and the defense backed her up. All but three outs came via ground balls to the infield, with Treanor sealing the victory with three come-backers to the mound in the seventh.

Gettysburg hit the scoreboard in the third inning as senior Maggie Maguire (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) drew a bases loaded walk. Sophomore Meghan Hisgen (East Northport, N.Y./Commack) posted a two-run double in the fifth to extend the lead to 3-0.

Treanor picked up her third shutout and improved to 8-3 on the season. Over her last three outings, the junior has allowed just two earned runs and 16 hits over 20 innings.

Junior Melissa Tighe (Little Falls, N.J./Mt. St. Dominic Academy) rapped a triple to plate another run in the sixth and she came in to score on a single by Zengel later in the fame.

Gettysburg's win was its first over a ranked team since beating No. 5 Messiah College 11-0 during the 2010 campaign.

Tighe finished 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI, while Zengel, Hall, and freshman Jamie Abell (Glenn Dale, Md./Elizabeth Seton) each went 2-for-4. Freshman Sam Misurell (Franklin Park, N.J./Bishop George Ahr) came up with two hits and a run after entering as a pinch-hitter in the sixth.

Gettysburg visits McDaniel College for a Centennial Conference series on Friday, April 11, at 3 p.m.
